[ Piper's knocking on Mick's door soon after, a plastic bag from a corner store near his place hanging from his arm, and a six pack of beer in his other hand. ]

Mick?

[pyrogue]

[ It takes a bit longer for Mick to answer than he normally would, and when he does he doesn't seem as warm as he normally does, but he lets Piper in basically immediately.

He spots the six pack and raises his eyebrows. ]

Shit, I could use a drink.

[socialactivillain]

I brought hot wings, too. [ He holds the bag up in offering. ]

[pyrogue]

You're the best friend a guy could have, Piper.

[socialactivillain]

Well, maybe. I try my best. [ No he doesn't. ]

[ He heads into Mick's living room and sets the beer and boxes of wings on the coffee table. ]

The guy at the corner store said these were the hottest wings you can get in Heropa, and he made me sign a waiver before I could buy them, so I hope they're up to your standards.

[ He has another box of wings of a significantly saner heat level for himself, the two boxes labeled very clearly so as not to mix their contents up. ]

[pyrogue]

[ Mick whistles. ]

Maybe I'll be able to taste 'em.

[ His mouth twitches. ]

Of course. You'd do the same for me.

[ He shrugs off his messenger bag and jacket, folding his jacket and draping it over his arm. ]

Do you wanna get the gun part out of the way before we start on these wings?

[pyrogue]

Yeah, it's uh -- I'll get it.

[ Mick climbs up to the loft space to go get his gun, leaving Piper alone in the... not as neat or orderly as it maybe would normally place him and Len normally share. It distinctly looks like Mick certainly hasn't touched any of Len's stuff, even to put it away.

He comes back down with the gun. ]

[ Piper hasn't exactly been by to visit since Mick moved in with Len, preferring to meet elsewhere when he and Mick hang out, on account of how poorly he and Len get along most of the time, but it's still easy to guess that this isn't the normal state of things.

When Mick returns with the gun, Piper takes it and tucks it away inside his bag. Out of sight, out of mind. ]

I'm glad you texted me, Mick.

[pyrogue]

Yeah.

[ It comes out a little flat though. He takes a breath, putting the cheerfulness back in his tone with a concentrated effort. ]

Well, put your stuff anywhere, it don't matter. Settle in.

Hey, this is Foggy. I really enjoyed our date, terrifying not-penguin Penguin aside, and [how does he phrase this so he doesn't sound creepy or demanding argh] it was a great date. A really great date.

Do you want to go out for coffee sometime? I mean, it doesn't have to be a "date" date, but I'd love the company.

[He hits send before he can change his mind, and then spends about ten minutes internally screaming. Oh god it's creepy isn't it he shouldn't have sent it oh god what if he says so argh—]

Hey! I was actually meaning to text you. I had a really good time, I've just been tied up with work.

[ Running a charity organization would take up a lot of his time even if he didn't tend to get tunnel vision on his projects. ]

Anyway, I'd love to.

[ He sets his bag and jacket aside and settles onto the couch. ]

Sure. Wanna put something on while we eat? I think there's game tonight, but I haven't really followed any teams here.

[ Normally, he'd suggest a Russian To Love You rewatch, but with all the cross-universe imPort love stories they've both read based on it, that doesn't really seem like the hottest idea right now. ]
